No, there’s no legal risk because Apaly is not a provider network. We are a technology platform that creates direct contracts between providers and self-funded employer health plans. Unlike other vendors in the industry, we are the ONLY APC+ solution that is NOT creating and operating a network, and we don’t take on risk or operate in any way that requires network licensure. We don’t put you at risk.

Member FAQs

Understanding APC+

APC+ (Advanced Primary Care Plus) is a membership program that gives you access to high-quality primary care—it’s not insurance. Your employer pays a monthly membership fee on your behalf, and in return you get benefits like same-day or next-day appointments, longer visits with your provider, and 24/7 virtual care access. You’ll still keep your regular health insurance for things like specialists, hospital stays, and prescriptions.

APC+ works alongside your health insurance, not as a replacement. Your APC+ membership covers primary care services (see our Scope of Services page for details), while your health insurance continues to cover specialists, hospital visits, surgeries, and other medical needs. You don’t need to notify your insurance carrier about joining APC+.

Cost & Billing

You will see monthly charges from Apaly to your insurance plan. This is not a bill. This is a statement showing the amount being paid by your employer to cover the cost of your monthly membership fee.

Your employer covers the full monthly membership fee at $0 to you.

Regardless of which health plan you are on:

  • $0 Virtual Care: Texting & video visits (for both wellness and non-wellness)
  • $0 In-Person Wellness Visits (like annual physicals and well visits)

PPO/EPO Plans:

  • $0 Copay for office visits
  • $0 Coinsurance—walk in, get treated, walk out

HSA/HDHP Plans:

  • In-person non-preventive services may incur charges if your IRS deductible hasn’t been met (average discounted rate of around $95 per visit)
  • After meeting your IRS deductible, all eligible in-person services are covered at 100%
  • 2026 IRS Minimum Deductibles: $1,700 for individuals | $3,400 for families

 

Note: IRS deductibles are separate from your health plan deductibles and are set by federal law to maintain the tax-advantaged status of HSA accounts.

Your APC+ membership covers comprehensive primary care including preventive care, acute illness treatment, chronic disease management, annual physicals, sports physicals, and prescription renewals. Visit our Scope of Services page for the full list. APC+ does not cover vision, dental, or specialist care—those continue to go through your regular health insurance.

Providers

You don’t have to switch doctors to sign up. However, to get the full benefits of APC+, you’ll need to establish care with an APC+ provider. If your current doctor isn’t in the APC+ network but you’d like them to join, contact us at [email protected] and we’ll reach out to them about participating.

Yes to both. You can switch APC+ providers anytime. For example, if you move to a new city or simply want to try someone different. And each family member can choose their own provider, so you might select an adult primary care physician for yourself and a pediatrician for your children.

You can still access APC+ through virtual care, schedule video visits, get prescriptions, message your provider, and handle urgent issues online anytime. If you’d like us to find physical locations near you, email [email protected] with your zip code and we’ll work on adding providers in your area.

Family & Dependents

Yes, your spouse and dependents can use APC+ if they’re covered under your employer’s health plan. Each family member enrolls individually and can choose their own provider. For college students, they can either establish care with an APC+ provider near their school or choose a provider near home and access them virtually. Family members can also enroll independently even if you choose not to, as long as they’re on the health plan.

Getting Started

Visit our marketplace to browse and select a provider. After you choose your provider, schedule an introductory visit with them. Once that visit happens, your provider reports it to Apaly, which activates your employer-paid membership. From there, you’ll have full access to all APC+ services. If you run into any issues during signup, email [email protected] and our team will help you get enrolled.

You cannot use the services or get same/next day appointments without first establishing with your provider. To check if your membership is active you can either login to your Apaly portal or contact your provider. 

Additional Questions

Not at all. You can keep seeing your current specialists as long as they’re in network with your current health plan and deliver high quality care.

APC+ combines the best of both, and fills the gaps each leaves behind.

vs. Traditional Primary Care:

  • Same-day or next-day appointments instead of waiting weeks to get in
  • Longer visits so your provider isn’t rushing through a 10-minute slot
  • Direct access to your provider via text or video between visits
  • Typically $0 out-of-pocket for most plan types (vs. copays at traditional offices)

 

vs. Teladoc and other telehealth services:

  • You see the same provider every time, not a random doctor who doesn’t know your history
  • Includes in-person care when you need a physical exam, labs, or hands-on treatment
  • Your APC+ provider manages your overall health, not just one-off sick visits
  • Virtual care is included in your membership, not a separate service

 

Think of APC+ as your own primary care provider who’s actually accessible—available virtually when convenient, in-person when needed, and familiar with your health history either way.

Many APC+ providers do prescribe GLP-1 medications, though individual prescriptions are at the clinician’s discretion. Contact us at [email protected] with your name and zip code, and we can connect you with the nearest APC+ provider to verify they write GLP-1 prescriptions.

You get paid through the apaly platform via ACH transfer directly to your bank account.

You must report your patient encounters into the Apaly platform, which can be done with one click.
That’s not a problem. Apaly is built for providers like you who prefer subscription-based care models. There’s no need to submit claims or deal with insurance. Apaly enables you to operate under a subscription based model, and apaly translates your services into claims that are submitted to the carriers/TPAs that administer the employer health plans.
The employer’s role is to pay the APC+ membership for their employees and families. This removes the financial barriers for patients, enabling them to access Your services without worrying about copays, deductibles, or the membership fees. It makes the APC subscription based model a benefit that is available to everyone, not just the wealthy.
From a legal, compliance, and operational basis, the large regional and national employers have to pay for healthcare services through their health plan funds account. Plus, There isn’t anyone at a large employer who can simply swipe a credit card to pay APC+ membership fees.
